As we attempt to "grow our brand" as they say... Whoever they are... We have started establishing our presence on social media... (Wait, second blog entry to use the word presence. And still a cool Zeppelin album.). We are now on Twitter (@AirbendingMedia) and even have a business page on LinkedIn. Our Facebook page has 66 likes already. That's almost as many as my personal page... I don't got a whole lot going on. Well I do actually, but it's record, edit, master, pull hair out dealing with kids, lather, rinse repeat. And then there are the automotive issues. Boy, when it rains it... Wait is that water damage behind the kitchen sink? Really?
Anyway, as I initially was saying, we are establishing a presence on social media. And I am conflicted. On the one hand, I don't like inundating people with messages like "Buy this now!!!!" Unless you really want to... I won't object... But we have some cool titles out and others forthcoming and we want to tell the world. And soon we are going to have an awesome sound booth from StudioBricks.... They're based in Europe. Airbending Media is going International!!! And aside from an improvement in sound quality, which has been improving since we started, it will have our cool logo on the outside... You know that logo plastered all over our web and Facebook pages... Yeah, pretty sweet. Take a bow Jeff... Take a bow...
And we want to tell the world! Why? Because, even though our time is spent recording books, we will now have the capability to have others drop by and record a voice over, a vocal track, a letter to their mother.... Whatever. And they can do so without the interruption of low flying airplanes.... Singing cats... Loud children... Lawn equipment... Individuals with self esteem issues revving their loud engines as they drive through our neighborhood too fast... None of that will ever again intrude on a recording session and bring things to a halt. Now if you want the ambiance of the great suburban middle class outdoors, we can leave the door open as well as a window, and let anti-nature add some lovely background music to your production. I can respect that sort of vision. Hey man, it's art!
Of course, I've always been a little hesitant to use Twitter because it's so easy to tweet without thinking. Well that, and obviously limiting the thoughts in my brain to a mere 140 character is practically impossible. Even my text messages are usually 2 parts. Just ask Tiffany or Vinny. I am verbose. Too much so. Even now I've already written too much. But I will learn, and we hope people will like us and follow us, and check out our productions and those of our friends and customers. We're lucky to know and work with some wonderfully creative people and we want to tell the world about them too. But mostly, we really want to tell everyone about our booth.... :-)
