Our Journal from Wishing Rock: July 9, 2014

Dear Rockers!  (And no that opening has nothing to do with the fact that I was just listening to Judas Priest... incidentally while bouncing and uploading our next audiobook "Lessons from Life" by the Congregation of Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - A Catholic Organization...  I'm a complicated guy!)

Anyway, it's been a week since our last update.  But I never said this was a daily Journal, or Weekly, or even Monthly.  In fact it's more of a Surprise Journal... and to readers of this fun series of books, you'll get the reference.  Thanks Millie!

We are moving along in our quest to provide an audiobook as awesome as the written text, but some things do get in the way... such as Patriotic Holidays, time with the Kiddos (finally took the oldest to see "How to Train Your Dragon 2" -- very excellent film!), photos of the new studio arrangement by our wonderful yet mysterious friend Jeff Hider, finishing up a short story ("Desperado" by Sara Barnard) and doing some corrections to the book mentioned above.  And of course there is Wishing Rock.

Tiffany rockin' the Rock... errrr I mean mic...

Tiffany rockin' the Rock... errrr I mean mic...

First, let me say that I love our booth.  Second, let me say that I really shouldn't have started that previous sentence with "First, let me say" because I am in paragraph four so obviously there were things said prior to that "First."  I should really think before I type.  Anyway, we have been working on Wishing Rock. While Tiffany reads everything before hand so that she can "get into character" when the moment arises, I don't pre-read.  I probably should but...  well there's my collection of guitars, this new Angry Birds game, and season 3 of The Legend of Korra just started (And there are a whole slew of new Airbenders popping up... so technically watching that could be construed as work related.)  Wait what was I talking about?  Oh yeah, I let Tiffany tell me the story as we go along.  And if you read my last entry... and you should really... because... well just read it okay... we are trying a unique approach.  So my view on the story so far has been extremely one sided because I've heard most of Ruby's take on this whole thing.  And let me tell you, the girl needs to get her act together.   I mean really, Erin and Pip need to smack some sense into that woman.  Metaphorically of course, because I don't condone violence.  But if a well placed metaphor doesn't work then Literally.

I never trusted this guy... or Jake!!!

I never trusted this guy... or Jake!!!

And while I admit that my next statement will be controversial and completely lacks any basis in reasoning, I don't like Jake.  Why?  Any time women gush over a guy like this, he's hiding something.  I know, I know... I am being irrational, and Tiffany having read all three has informed me numerous times that I am wrong, but as a long standing guy... dudeius emeritus...  I have a long history on which to draw from.  It goes back to my overwhelming suspicion of Shaun Cassidy and all the girls crushing over him back in the 70's.  What was his secret?  He was really David Cassidy's brother!  Yup... Scandal!!!  Then in the 80's it was Duran Duran and all the girls loved them.  Their secret?  The 3 Taylor boys weren't even brothers, nor were they even related!!!.  Yup... Scandal... times 3!!!  And I'm pretty sure all the boy bands and dreamboat actors since the early 90's were manufactured in Area 51 or something.  And what pray tell is Jake's secret?  Not sure yet but I believe it involves Ben.  Color me suspicious.

Same goes for these guys!

Same goes for these guys!

As this week goes on, I am certain that more information will come to light.  Either way, I've been drawn into this world, and It's not even past March yet...  in the Wishing Rock world that is... I'm well aware it's July in the physical world.  Soooo yeah...  and remember, Jake is shady and possibly evil...  and even if he isn't... he really is!  Trust me!
